Charging for School Activities
The Governing Body does not normally charge parents for activities and tuition. As the school budget now has to carry the cost of Peripatetic music lessons, we do need voluntary contributions or some sponsorship.
In the course of the year, there may be occasions where an educational trip inside school hours is arranged as part of the curriculum needs. All such trips are seen as relevant to the whole curriculum as well as enhancing particular areas of study.
In such cases, parents are invited to make a voluntary contribution towards the cost of the visit. These visits, however, can only take place providing a sufficient level of funding can be achieved. We try to ensure however, that no pupil is debarred solely by inability to pay.
The Governing Body will, where necessary, make a charge
* For activities wholly or mainly outside school hours.
* For all appropriate board and lodging fees involved for residential courses and visits.
In such cases the children involved will be given every opportunity and support by the school to attend such activities.
