Homework

We encourage enquiry and inquisitiveness by the child but we try to avoid setting onerous tasks to be tackled at home. We prefer that such enquiry comes naturally from discussion at home in regard to what is being done in school.

To this end we provide each term a curriculum map, a synopsis of the topics to be covered in each class that term.

There are however certain areas in which we do regularly set tasks, in particular, Reading and spelling, which are aligned to weekly class activity. We are constantly developing the work we send home or request to be done at home. We try to ensure that for competition and Eisteddfod entries we give time and a clear instruction of what we require. We also give an opportunity to record work done by children with their parents that has not been directed by the school.
