Parental Contact
Parents are always welcome in the school. Parental support in all aspects of school life is greatly valued. It is advisable to phone for
an appointment if you wish to discuss any important matters with the headteacher, in order to insure that he is available. Any parents
wishing to see a class teacher, should first contact the Headteacher in order to minimise disruption of lesson time and to ensure that the class teacher is available
Prior to admission pre visits are arranged for parents and children to view the school. A general meeting is arranged to discuss entry and any religious and curricula aspect with the Headteacher and staff.
If parents have any points to raise with staff, we try to arrange a mutually convenient time to do so. This is to avoid holding meetings in the schoolyard at 8.55am. as this prevents children getting to their classes on time and delays school activities.
Parental Consultations are held three times during the year. We operate an appointment system that is aimed at minimising waiting periods.
The first of these parent consultation evenings is during the Autumn Term. It is an opportunity for parents to discuss matters relating to their child with the Class Teacher.
The second parent consultation evening is during the Spring Term and is more formal in nature. Parents are given a report of their child’s work and have the opportunity to discuss their child’s progress and to plan a way forward for the rest of the year.
The third Parent Consultation Evening is during the Summer Term, following the issue of the annual written report, which include the S.A.T results in Year Two and Year Six. Parents are offered the opportunity to make an appointment with the Class Teacher to discuss the report if it is felt that there is a need.
When arranging interviews we would appreciate notice of any specific points that you wish to be discussed to allow staff time to collect relevant information to give an accurate response.
Throughout the year the children will present assemblies, masses and other celebrations. We try to give as much advanced notification of these as we can.
All parents and other members of the family are invited to join us in all of our celebrations if it possible to do so.
