Special school needs
Special Needs pupils are identified through an internal referral system. The class teacher will initially advise if any child is in need of support teaching.
The Special Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) Mr D Moruzzi, and three support teachers, liase with all teaching staff and where necessary with outside agencies to ensure that resources are used efficiently to meet the identified needs of each child. The SEN Team has the responsibility to assess and monitor the special educational needs of pupils within Key Stage 1 and 2.
Parents will be fully informed and consulted at all stages regarding their child’s need and the strategies employed by the school to address those needs. Parental concerns regarding these strategies should be addressed through the SENCO Mr Moruzzi or the Headteacher initially, so that staff may be freed for consultation.
Please do advise us if your child has any physical or health problems, which might affect his or her education, such as if your child should be wearing glasses for close work , or has a hearing problem. If your child is facing any distressing situation which may have an affect on their performance in school please inform the school.
