Sporting Aims and Achivements
We offer as wide a range of sports, particularly on an extra curricula basis, as we can. Currently we can offer rugby, football, netball in the Winter terms, with baseball and athletics in the Summer term
There are school teams for these sports that participate in regular friendly local competition. In addition, we provide opportunities to take part in cricket and tennis. The older children are able to participate in swimming lessons at a local pool.
We offer both rugby and netball training to all pupils wishing to take part in Years 5 and 6. While in Years 3 and 4, we offer Ball Skills rather than specific sport
We utilise the expertise of our own staff for most of these sessions although when possible, local sports figures and organisations are invited to the school to conduct training sessions with the children.
The school halls are used for a variety of activities, including seating for school meals. They are used for gymnastics, dance and some games sessions during the winter months. They also provide extra teaching space for activities requiring more space and freedom. The large hall is used by the whole school for assemblies and masses. The stage is used for musical productions that take place in the school. They are also utilised by the Parents Support group for the activities that they conduct as part of
their fundraising activities.
